19 Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. 20 He sent out his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave.21 Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind. Psalm 107:19-21
For those who are going through a time of brokenness in your life, being patient, waiting on God, enduring the pain, doing spiritual therapy, and not giving up hope is the road to a full recovery. It takes a long time to heal when we are broken. God can take the pieces of our lives and put them back into place. We may need to sit still and be quiet for a while, resting in God so that a healing of our soul can take place.
Going through the recovery period may be painful, but our spiritual therapy of reading God’s word, praying and sitting still to listen to God’s voice will help us to go from the point of brokenness to a place of wholeness. We may have to face some difficult realizations and lay them at Jesus’ feet, including our negative thought of forever staying broken.
God will not let us suffer forever. In time we will look back and remember the pain but know we have grown because of it. Our light and momentary affliction will eventually bring God glory. Through our suffering, we are polished to a brilliance that was not there before the affliction. This can become a shining example to others in a broken state, of hope for healing. B Calvert
Loving God, thank you for your healing power. From being broken to becoming whole, in all things, help me to bring glory to you. In Your Name, Amen.
Prayer for Morning Today is a blessed beautiful day and I praise God for allowing me another day to be on this earth. I ask Lord that you touch those whose hearts have turned cold and no longer care. I pray that they see your way is the greater way. Thank you, Lord. Amen.
Let It Shine Lord, I pray that today I will let the light of Christ pour from me like a sunbeam, to brighten every dark corner that I come upon. Amen.
Dedication
God of mercy, swift to help as my lips pour forth your praise, fill my heart with the peace you give to those who wait for your salvation in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Choices in good times and in difficult times
God our Father, in good times may I live in such a way that I will be strengthened for the difficult times that all of us face in our lives. Lead me now to make positive choices to value friendship and loyalty, and develop attitudes and values, treasuring all that is lasting and important. Throughout difficult times may I build on the positive choices of my past, looking outward in the service of others and avoiding self-pity. May I grow in the faith that, whatever my circumstances, I need have no regrets but may entrust my past to your mercy, my present to your love, and my future to your Providence. Amen.
