2nd. March. 2021. Daily Devotion.
And you, my child, will be called a prophet of the Most High;
for you will go on before the Lord to prepare the way for him,
77 to give his people the knowledge of salvation
through the forgiveness of their sins,
78 because of the tender mercy of our God,
by which the rising sun will come to us from heaven
79 to shine on those living in darkness
and in the shadow of death,
to guide our feet into the path of peace.” Luke 1:76-79
The choice is ours
And I will make you my promised bride forever. I will be good and fair; I will show you my love and mercy” (Hosea 2:19). For all its peculiarities and unevenness, the Bible has a simple story. God made man. Man rejected God. God won’t give up until he wins him back.
God will whisper. He will shout. He will touch and tug. He will take away our burdens; he’ll even take away our blessings. If there are a thousand steps between us and him, he will take all but one. But he will leave the final one for us. The choice is ours.
Please understand. His goal is not to make you happy. His goal is to make you his. His goal is not to get you what you want; it is to get you what you need. from A Gentle Thunder ML.
Teach Me to Love
O holy Christ, your life was perfect in constancy. You have never failed those who loved you, for your love is eternal, perfect and unfailing. You never change, never weaken, never vary. Teach me the steadfastness of your love, mighty Saviour. Teach me your humility, your selflessness. Teach me to be a devoted servant.
Look with grace, I pray, on my small and tarnished loving; protect it, foster it, strengthen it, that my love may be less unworthy to be offered to you and to your children. O Light of the world teach me how to love. Amen.
Give us Consolation
Lord as we suffer through this time of the virus allow us to turn to you for strength and comfort. I know that your saving help reaches out to those afflicted and in pain.
Grant us the faith to believe that you are herewith us and will grant us a consolation
beyond even our deepest desires. Amen.
Lent prayer
Christ Jesus, help me to listen to your word and to see you in all people that I meet. May I approach all encounters with an open heart and work together with others to transform our world. Amen.
Meditation
The power of God in our lives comes from suffering because it strips us down to humility and dependency.
