North Queensferry Church

30th. June. 2021. Daily Devotion.

12 Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to acknowledge those who work hard among you, who care for you in the Lord and who admonish you. 13 Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other. 14 And we urge you, brothers and sisters, warn those who are idle and disruptive, encourage the disheartened, help the weak, be patient with everyone. 15 Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always strive to do what is good for each other and for everyone else.

16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:12-18

There may be times when we have multiple troubles that make life difficult; poor health, a rebellious teenager, loneliness, loss of a job, death of a loved one, or financial difficulties, yet in all these things we can still have a peaceful heart, if we are willing to pray without ceasing and give thanks. We don’t necessarily have to feel thanks, but we give thanks and yield our grateful hearts to Him, despite our circumstances. We place in God, the hope for His resolutions, working out all things for our good.

Chaos, unrest, crime, natural disasters, and persecution of Christians may surround us. We must remember, who we serve is greater than all. We must stay strong and give thanks. When we are busy giving thanks, He is busy giving us peace. We may still have turmoil, but the turmoil will not have us. J Calvert

Dear Lord, Thank you for your peace that passes all understanding. In Christ’s Name, Amen

Morning Praise

Blessed are you, Lord God: Blessed are you for ever. Holy is your name: Blessed are you for ever. Great is your mercy for your people. In the morning I cry out to you: Blessed are you for ever.

Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, I praise you and give you glory. I bless you for calling me to be one of your holy people. Remain in my heart and guide me in my love and service all of this day. Help me to shine your light before others and lead them to the way of faith. Holy Trinity of love, I praise you now and for ever. Amen.

For the Human Family

O God, you made us in your own image and redeemed us through Jesus your Son: Look with compassion on the whole human race, O Lord; take away the arrogance and hatred which infect our hearts; break down the walls that separate us; unite us in bonds of love; and work through our struggle and confusion to accomplish your purposes on earth.

That, in your good time, all nations and races may serve you in harmony around your heavenly throne, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

No More Tears Prayer
Faithful Father, thank you that you know, and you love all your creatures. Your word says that there will be a day when you will wipe every tear from their eyes. On that day there will be no more crying, pain, sin or death. Give those for whom I pray the strength to endure, and the hope that you will bring them comfort. May the word of Christ dwell in them richly, teaching them in all wisdom. Whatever we do, in word or deed, may we do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
