30th. November. 2021. Daily Devotion.
12 Listen to me, you stubborn-hearted, you who are now far from my righteousness.
13 I am bringing my righteousness near, it is not far away; and my salvation will not be delayed. I will grant salvation to Zion, my splendour to Israel. ~ Isaiah 46:12-13
When the prophet Isaiah spoke these words, he did not know the person Jesus, but he did know the message that God placed in his heart. His was the advent message of a hope to come for redemption of those who had fallen. He was speaking a message of repentance to the people of Judah, but this message was also to the entire world and for future generations. Isaiah 49:6 says, But I have something else for you to do that is even more important: I will make you a light for the other nations. You will show people all over the world the way to be saved. Christ is the righteousness whom God has brought near. We are thereby called to live in such a way that we reflect the grace and beauty of Jesus Christ for the sake of everyone our lives touch.
Help us God to always remember that we are your light in the world. We give You all the praise and glory, Amen.
To Proclaim the Gospel
Almighty God, who called your Church to bear witness that you were in Christ reconciling the world to yourself: help us to proclaim the good news of your love, that all who hear it may be drawn to you; through him who was lifted up on the cross, and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
