28 ‘And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labour or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendour was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you – you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, “What shall we eat?” or “What shall we drink?” or “What shall we wear?” 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matthew 6:28-34
This kind of faith is both simple and difficult because it involves surrendering our ego wills and call us to trust God implicitly. We are so used to making our own way, our own provisions, our own choices. Here is a comment upon it:
I do not know many Christians who come anywhere close to following the recipe for life that this Scripture expresses: Have utter and complete faith in God, follow His word, and do not worry about food, clothing — the necessities of life! Yet, that is exactly what the Bible tells us we should do. Take life one day at a time, or, as it is said in the marvellous poetry of the King James Version, “Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.” ~ Mason Barge
Heavenly Father, grant me the grace to always grow in faith, until I put my faith completely in You. Amen.
1 There’s a wideness in God’s mercy,
like the wideness of the sea.
There’s a kindness in God’s justice,
which is more than liberty.
2 There is welcome for the sinner,
and more graces for the good.
There is mercy with the Saviour,
there is healing in his blood.
3 But we make God’s love too narrow
by false limits of our own,
and we magnify its strictness
with a zeal God will not own.
4 For the love of God is broader
than the measures of the mind,
and the heart of the Eternal
is most wonderfully kind.
5 If our love were but more simple,
we should rest upon God’s word,
and our lives would be illumined
by the presence of our Lord.

Dedication
God of mercy, swift to help, as my lips pour forth your praise, fill my heart with the peace you give to those who wait for your salvation in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Prayer for Overcoming Life’s Hardships
O Lord we call upon you in our time of sorrows, That you give us the strength and will to bear our heavy burdens, until we can again feel the warmth and love of Your divine compassion. Be mindful of us and have mercy on us while we struggle to comprehend life’s hardships
Keep us ever in Your watch, until we can walk again with light hearts and renewed spirits
Prayer at Night
Dear Father in heaven, accept the good I have done this day and forgive the wrong. Bless my relatives and all whom I love, and keep us safely through this night, granting us clarity of conscience and a peaceful night of sleep; in Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
